BRINGING MEDICATION INTO SCHOOL..... A REMINDER TO PUPILS AND PARENTS
We know that, at times, some pupils need to bring medication into school and there is a set procedure to ensure safety on such occasions.
When parents send medication into school, it should be accompanied by a note of explanation and such medicines should be immediately taken to Mr. White for safekeeping.
THEIR COMMITMENT TO HELP THE WHOLE COMMUNITY
Well done to the 18 SVP members who recently completed a ‘First Aid’ course led by Peter Stead from St. John’s Ambulance. Pupils committed themselves to attend two 2-hour sessions after school.
All who participated found that they thoroughly enjoyed the course. They feel that it will give them confidence and enhance the care and support they can give through their activities in the community.
Congratulations.... to Miss Cheetham, Miss McCarthy, Mr. Lewis and Miss Mallaby, who all completed successful Teaching Practices at St. Michael’s during the spring and summer terms. Miss McCarthy will be returning to St. Michael’s in the autumn term to teach in the History Department.
CASTLES STUDIES WERE OUTSTANDING
The standard of work in the Year 7 ‘Castles’ extended studies was higher than ever! There were scores and scores of high-quality assignments, including those from Amy Barker, Daniel Sigsworth and Melissa Digiorgis. Judging proved to be very difficult but, in the end, James Yardley, Adam Price and Elly Mitchell were awarded the top prizes. There was a display of work on the Year 7 Parents’ Evening and it was much admired.
