To be working at Level 4, I need to……

  • Multiply & Divide whole numbers by 10 or 100
  • Solve number problems using mental and written methods involving the 4 operations
  • Know times tables up to 10 x 10
  • Add and subtract decimals to two places
  • Recognise proportions of a whole and use fractions and percentages to describe them
  • Describe simple number patterns and relationships including multiple, factor and square
  • Use simple formulae expressed in words
  • Use co-ordinates in the first quadrant
  • Make 3D models by linking faces and edges
  • Draw common 2D shapes in different orientations on a grid
  • Identify congruent shapes
  • Identify orders of rotational symmetry
  • Choose appropriate units and instruments for measurements
  • Calculate perimeters of shapes
  • Find areas of shapes by counting squares
  • Find volumes of 3D shapes by counting cubes
  • Collect discrete data and record them using a frequency table (or tally chart)
  • Understand and use the mode and median
  • Group data in equal class intervals
  • Represent collected data in frequency diagrams and interpret their meaning
  • Construct and interpret simple line diagrams
  • Understand and use simple vocabulary associated with probability such as fair, certain and likely
