ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS PROJECT - MARK SCHEME

How to improve your project and get the best level possible. Your environmental concerns project will be judged on the following criteria:

PRESENTATION

Has your project been suitably presented?
Is it colourful, neat and well presented?
Are the illustrations appropriate?

AIMS AND METHODS

Have you explained in sufficient depth the aims and methods of your chosen Conservation Group?

WHY ARE WILDLIFE ENDANGERED OR WHY IS LAND BEING SPOILT?

Do you explain why your chosen animal is endangered and near extinction or if you are doing land – why this area is being spoilt?

WHAT IS BEING DONE?

Have you described fully what is being done or could be done to help the environmental group you have decided to research?

RESEARCH

Is there plenty of evidence to show you have researched your chosen topic? You could for instance give a list of websites you have used, books you have read or magazines you have used. In addition you could include materials sent to you by the groups you write to.

There are three levels for each area:

Level One – 1 – 2 marks

Level Two – 3 –4 marks

Level Three – 5 –6 marks.

The highest possible mark therefore is 30 marks.
